The 5th Annual Akron Peace Week was a wonderful success, bringing together many parts of our community to grow and unify. We look forward to establishing a Nonviolent Communication group in the area, more film showings, Peace Week 6, and much more!
Jan 18th – The Peace Project supports the MLK event at Trinity (915 N. Main St, Akron) 5pm. Many wonderful groups are involved in this interfaith event, including the Akron PeaceMakers,
Jan 19th – Fundraising concert at Wolf Creek Winery (2637 Cleveland Massillon Rd, Norton) 7pm. Featuring the music of Zach, and some words and spirit of Dr. King.
Feb 28th – Big Love Festival – Musica Complex (Market St, between Main and High, Akron). Noon – midnight. This community-building, spiritual celebrational, arts creational experience in unique in Akron. Featuring 3 floors of activities, 15 musical performances, several yoga classes, a meditation space, 7 art installations, 7 community-building workshops, dance, live painting, food, zero waste focus, poetry, storytelling, kids and family activities, and so much more! It’s a free event, though we love a $3 suggested donation, if you feel so inspired. Put together with Global Ties Akron, HEAL, and the League of Creative Interventionists.
